Overview

Among the medical plastic products, the plastic molded products with these narrow grooves are functional parts. It is a plastic processed product that requires a slit shape with a narrow groove and requires flatness especially at the peaks. Since the slit width is 0.4 mm and the depth is 5 mm, there is concern about short molding when filling with resin. As a measure against short molding, we selected a grade with a high melt flow rate for the material grade, and installed a gas escape circuit in the mold design and performed flow analysis to determine the gate type and position.
Also, when molding in a clean room, the ABS material generates a lot of gas, so it is necessary to carefully control the cleanliness.
